We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Officer to lead our anti-money laundering and financial crime prevention initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Financial Crimes (AFC) compliance programs to help mitigate financial crime risks and ensure regulatory adherence. Your work will help safeguard our business, Fundbox’s bank partners, and its customers, as well as maintain our reputation as a responsible, secure financial services provider.

Requirements

  • CAMS or CFE certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in AML, compliance, or financial crime prevention, preferably in the banking, fintech, or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML regulations and experience with KYC, CDD, EDD requirements, as well as sanctions review processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in using transaction monitoring systems and risk assessment tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with regulators, law enforcement, and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Program management experience and skills, including experience with process improvement and transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Fundbox’s Chief Compliance Officer to develop, implement, and maintain an effective AML and compliance program that aligns with U.S. regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and other applicable requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments on the company’s AML/AFC program.
  • Conduct in-depth monitoring, investigation, and reporting on suspicious activities and transactions.
  • Maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors and manage internal implementations of 3rd party tools that are critical to the company’s AML and AFC programs.
  • Design, implement, regularly test, and oversee transaction monitoring rules for use with Fundbox’s transaction monitoring platform.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify potential risks in new and existing products, ensuring compliance with AML laws and regulations.
  • Manage the SAR (Suspicious Activity Reporting) process from investigation to filing, ensuring thorough reviews, as well as timely and accurate submissions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for bank partners and auditors for the company’s AML/AFC program, coordinating AML audits and reviews, and responding to information requests.
  • Regularly review and update AML policies, procedures, and training materials, and conduct training sessions for employees to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to monitor transaction patterns and enhance the detection and prevention of suspicious activities.
  • Help create and update regular reporting about Fundbox’s AML and AFC compliance activities for senior management and bank partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations, advising management on necessary policy and procedural changes.

Compensation & Benefits
We anticipate the US base salary range for this full-time position is $115,000 - $160,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the amount the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors (i.e. job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training). The compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include any bonuses, equity, or benefits.
