The last few weeks have reminded us of the ugly but real and longstanding issues of racism and intolerance. Black lives matter. We are all shocked by the recent killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. At Fundbox, we cannot quietly observe injustices like these. To be silent is to be complicit, and so we want to be very clear about our position on these matters:
- There is no place for racism, gender-bias, religion-bias, or homophobia at Fundbox. Period.
- Many of us come from communities of color. We acknowledge the pain, sadness, anger, frustration, fear, depression, and anxiety that everyone is feeling, particularly our black friends and colleagues.
- We need to create a safe space for our people. We will be facilitating conversations across the company where colleagues can come together to share their experiences.
- Processing these events will take time and space. We have given our people the chance to take a break and have provided access to resources if they need help.
Please know that we stand united. In moments like these, let’s support each other with understanding, compassion, and a willingness to listen and learn.
